Dengue cases hit past 500

Dengue, the mosquito-borne disease, has hit alarming levels in Bohol.

Authorities have pushed the alarm buttons after the Department of Health confirmed the outbreak of the disease in two city barangays-Cogon and Dao.

As of last count, the DOH reported that dengue cases since January this year already hit past the 500 mark.

City to put up nutri-pan
food centers in schools

MAKING sure that schoolchildren get the right nutrients may be getting down to the basics, and city schools hope to put up the Nutri-pan.

The Nutri-Pan, (nutrient rich bread) which would soon be piloted at the Tagbilaran City Central School would be baked in the schools and sold at the canteens, City Health Office representative Dr. Aldoiza Cepe said.

The National Nutrition Council is willing to put up P30T and some 10 days of operational costs for the city supplement feeding program and Mayor Dan Lim has also vowed to put in funds, Dr. Cepe said.

Donaire comes
home a 'hero'

TALIBON-As quick punches, memories of companionship for 13 years with her grandfather flash in reminiscence for boxing hero, Nonito "Flash" Donaire Jr. who had been away from home.

Clad with his champion's belt and corsage around his neck, a semblance of coming-home hero- -an honored guest.

His 13 years of childhood was with Lolo Kikoy, whom he reunited after many years of separation.
