PITE addresses Panglao power
need in yr 2011

BOHOL has excess power now, but unless new sources are tapped, a shortage looms in as early as three years.

Gov. Erico Aumentado who chairs the Panglao Island Tourism Estate Inter-Agency Task Force (PITE-IATF) Friday invited top officials of the National Power Corp.

(NAPOCOR) and the National Transmission Corp. (TRANSCO) to give the lowdown on their respective expansion plans vis-à-vis the drastic need for power when the Panglao Bohol International Airport (PBIA) operationalizes in 2011.

Progress has a price,
Lim tells residents

Tagbilaran City Mayor Dan Lim yesterday told his constituents that progress has a price.

The mayor made the comment when he revealed his proposal to subject the New Growth Center to a referendum.

"Nothing comes for free in this world that we live in - the food that we eat, clothes that we wear, our homes, the education of our children, everything comes at a price," he noted.

A SENSE OF DIRECTION

The fate of the proposed New Growth Center in Tagbilaran City is now in the hands of the city's constituents. Mayor Dan Lim has announced that the proposed project will be subjected to a referendum because he wants the people to have a stake in the project.

The referendum is a two-edged sword. On one hand, it could give City Hall the needed leverage to deal with future criticisms because a mandate from the people would be very difficult to question.
