Confrontation arises from arrest of asset

A team leader of the regional Land Transportation Office flying squad was disarmed Thursday by the chief of the Criminal Investigation & Detection Group after a heated altercation over a CIDG asset who was arrested for a traffic violation.

The LTO flying squad was patrolling along the city's highways for violation of traffic rules and regulations when the incident happened.

CIDG Bohol chief Germano Mallari admitted having poked a gun on Ronald Lim, team leader of the LTO regional office after the asset was arrested for

 
driving without license. The poking incident took place at the LTO office in Dampas district, this city. The CIDG asset was also found to have driven a an unregistered motorcycle.

Lim calls on Boholanos to
rally behind Choco Hills

Tagbilaran Mayor Dan Lim yesterday called on all Boholanos and even non-Boholanos to rally behind the Chocolate Hills in its bid to make it to the seven new wonders of the world.

Proud to be Boholano

The Chocolate Hills is giving Boholanos something to rally behind in a time when there are a lot of things that divide them. It is a shot at making it to the top seven in the new seven wonders of the world organized by the New7Wonders Foundation.

At first glance, it may not mean much. For one, there is nothing much to it except prestige and publicity. Skeptics may argue that it won't bring food to the stomach to hungry Boholanos severely affected by the rice shortage.
