Capitol budget bid

BOHOL GOVERNOR ERICO AUMENTADO IS NOT TAKING CHANCES to meet head on any problem arising from food shortage.

With Bohol's food security program a top priority, Gov. Aumentado's presented a P53.46-million "wish list" in a supplemental budget he submitted to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) for approval.

A certification from the Local Finance Committee (LFC) as to sources of funds supported his budget message for Vice Gov. Julius Caesar Herrera and the SP. The LFC includes the provincial treasurer, budget

 
officer, accountant and the governor's executive assistant on financial matters, among others.

Lim suspends hike in
real property taxes

Tagbilaran Mayor Dan Lim yesterday announced the suspension in the implementation of the increase in real property taxes.

Lim said the suspension in the collection of the increase was due to the prevailing crisis particularly the shortage in the supply of rice as well as the increase in oil prices.

"It would be the height of insensitivity to insist in implementing the new rates without taking into consideration the people's situation," the mayor pointed out.

lead welcome at Tubigon wharf

Governor Erico Aumentado along with the three Bohol congressmen will laid out the welcome carpet for the party of Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo upon arrival at the Tubigon port on Tuesday.

The three congressmen at the Tubigon welcome reception are Congressmen Edgar Chatto, Roberto Cajes and Adam Relson Jala.

Taken for a ride

  On Tuesday, Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo makes the first of a rare two visits in Bohol in a span of one week.

The visit should generate excitement given that she will be taking the land trip from Tubigon to Jagna. This is part of her administration's Strong Republic National Highway (SRNH) which seeks to link the country's major islands.
