Erico Aumentado has made his stand on Charter Change (Cha-Cha) - and is strongly
urging local officials in Bohol to rally behind him.
In
a Bohol Law Enforcement Communications System (BLECS) message to Vice Gov. Julius
Caesar Herrera, Tagbilaran City Mayor Dan Lim and Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso
and all the municipal mayors and vice mayors in the province, the immediate past
president of the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) gave his guidance. FULL

the Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved last week the Bohol Mining Ordinance for
Small-Scale Mining and Quarrying. The
SP, presided by Vice-Governor Julius Herrera, approved the measure during its
regular session on December 9, putting stringent provisions for Environmental

FOUNDATION DAY CELEBRATION Landslide-stricken Mayana 'made
it through' By

| Mayana-
-a village once hit by a terrible landslide in 2005, now back on its feet again
from devastation, managed to celebrate, for the first time, its foundation day
on December 8. Self-help
led the barriofolk back to the development track with main assistance coming from
the municipal government, in addition to the aid from other sources. Fortunately,
Mayana was able to hurdle the test in more than a century since it became a barangay

Urgency
 | | The
Charter Change continues to be the single most divisive issue in the country,
perhaps even more than the population bill. The controversy is well founded given
that the signals come straight from the top. |
Those
advocating the Cha-cha now contend that there are a lot of provisions that needed
to be urgently changed. They have a point in that. As to whether it is that urgent
to require change right now, that is another question. FULL
