The local church repudiated all legal cover in whatever pretense, guise and form regarding the plan to introduce the state-sponsored Small Town Lottery in Bohol.

In a one-page manifesto, Bishop Leonardo Medroso, D.D., bishop of the Diocese of Tagbilaran, said in response to certain moves by political sectors endorsing this new numbers game, the clergy of the diocese of Tagbilaran declared its irrevocable objection to the STL.

get P500 VAT subsidy

SEPTUAGENARIAN dependents here joined City Mayor Dan Lim in thanking President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo for the P500 Katas ng VAT para kay Lolo and Lola one-time subsidy.

The program, which the President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo put up, gets its fund from savings when the country imposed the 12% Value Added Tax (VAT) on goods and services.

Maribojoc withdraws
survey firm contract

MARIBOJOC-The municipal government withdrew its contract with Fudalan Survey Firm signed during the past administration for the cadastral survey in eight barangays here.

The Sangguniang Bayan already passed a resolution authorizing Mayor Leoncio Evasco Jr. to rescind the contract of Fudalan Survey Firm.

Supreme equalizer

 THE furious exchange between the Bohol Chronicle and Tagbilaran Mayor Dan Lim monopolized the airlanes the last couple of weeks. It was a spirited exchange, to put it diplomatically, enough to generate unusual interest.
