Vendetta or revenge is one possible angle investigators are looking into as the slay attempt against two municipal officials of Pilar town entered its two-week period.

This sleepy municipality was jolted from its pre-New Year revelry when a bonnet-wearing man tried to kill with an unknown handgun Municipal Local Government Officer Joseph Malabusa, age unknown, and Calixta Orapa, 49, a widow and both residing in barangay Malinao, Pilar.

PMI strike on as admin continues
holding back anniversary bonus

The picket of the faculty and staff of the Philippine Maritime Institute (PMI) continued as the administration refused to give in to their demand for the release of their anniversary bonus.

The over 70 instructors and 50 staff of PMI Colleges complained about the sudden set back of their anniversary bonus equivalent to one-month salary and the P5,000 cash gift that they had been receiving every first of May for the past 13 years. FULL STORY

The Danajon double barrier reef, an underwater geological phenomenon off northern Bohol and documented to be the only in Southeast Asia, has been launched as one of the world's best dive sites.
